This short guide explains each part of the enrolment process so you know what to expect. It also introduces how our learning platform works, including how tasks and quizzes are presented, so you can feel confident before you begin the course.
On the next page, you will be asked to complete a short quiz titled Practice Quiz. This is not a test and does not affect your application. It is designed to ensure you have understood the information provided in this guide and to help you become familiar with the type of interactive learning used throughout the course. You may retake the quiz as many times as needed — the goal is to feel informed, not to pass or fail.
Entry Requirements
To be accepted onto the Level 5 Dual Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Clinical Hypnotherapy, you need to meet one or both of the following:
- Relevant life or work experience in a caring or supportive role
- A Level 3 qualification in a related field (such as counselling, health and social care, psychology, or education)
If you have both, you will be encouraged to submit both types of evidence. If you have only one, that’s absolutely fine. This process is designed to help us understand your background and readiness.
What You’ll Be Doing
This enrolment guide includes several tasks that give you a feel for how our course is structured. These steps include:
- Online Practice Quiz
- Uploading a certificate (if you have one), and writing a short personal statement (if you have relevant experience)
- Taking part in a short, informal interview with a tutor
These activities have been designed to give you a practical introduction to how learning will take place throughout the course. As you progress through your diploma, you will regularly complete quizzes to evaluate your understanding of each module. You will also complete written assignments, which may include file uploads or direct answers entered into response boxes on the platform.
We’ve set up this enrolment process using the same system we use for the full diploma (Tutor LMS), so you’ll get a realistic preview of how modules are structured, how feedback is delivered, and how to submit your work. In addition to online learning, we also hold weekly in-person tutorials during term time at our venue in the Millennium Centre, West Derby, Liverpool.
Application Interview
After completing your enrolment tasks, you will be invited to a relaxed, informal application interview with one of our tutors. This is a space to talk about your goals and ensure the course is the right fit for you.
You will need to bring the following documents with you:
- A valid form of photo ID (such as a passport or driving licence)
- Your enhanced DBS certificate (if you have one)
Note: If you do not yet have a DBS certificate or are not registered with the Update Service, we can process this for you once you are fully enrolled.
Why do I need an enhanced DBS check to study?
The enhanced DBS check is required because during your training, you may work with members of the public who are considered vulnerable, including adults and young people receiving therapeutic support. This safeguarding measure helps ensure a safe and professional environment for everyone involved.
If you are subscribed to the DBS Update Service, we will (with your permission) carry out a live online check and take a screenshot of your status for internal records. If you are not subscribed to the service, we will view your original certificate in person. We do not retain copies of your documents.
Please do not upload personal documents online:
To comply with GDPR, we do not store sensitive personal information such as ID or DBS records on our system. Instead, we will view your documents in person at the application interview and verify your details.
How Tutor Feedback Works
Once you’ve completed the tasks and attended your interview, a tutor will review your submissions and assess your suitability for the diploma programme. You will receive a notification by email when your review is complete.
On the diploma course, tutor feedback is a key part of your learning process. Sometimes it’s supportive and affirming, other times reflective or thought-provoking. It may challenge you to look deeper or guide your next steps. This initial feedback will give you a sample of that process.
You can view any feedback or progress updates by logging into your student dashboard and selecting My Courses. From there, click into the course to review your submissions and responses.
If You’re Accepted
If your application is successful, you will be invited to purchase and begin the Level 5 Dual Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Clinical Hypnotherapy. This will appear under your account on the Courses Page. Your tutor will guide you through next steps and ongoing support will be available throughout your studies.
If You’re Not Accepted
This is a high-level diploma, and our tutors take great care to ensure that each student is suitably prepared for the demands of the course. If, after reviewing your application, we feel that the course may not be the best fit at this stage, we will always offer constructive, supportive feedback.
Our goal is to help every applicant succeed, even if that means suggesting a more suitable pathway first. This may involve recommending further experience, signposting you to additional training, or helping you build confidence before reapplying. You won’t be left without direction, we’re here to guide you.
