Welcome to UK Therapy Guild. I'm Nichola Doyle, Founder and your lead tutor. My path here combines over 20 years of dedicated experience in education with extensive qualifications: MA Education & Teaching, BA Hons Education (QTS), FdA Children’s Development & Learning, L6 Counselling Supervision, L5 Diploma in Hypnotherapy, and L5 Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I am also a Senior Accredited Member of the NCIP and ACCPH, and Member of the BACP.

After a rewarding career in teaching and management, I transitioned into the therapeutic field. This journey led me to train with UKAIT and gain invaluable experience, becoming a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist. Now, UK Therapy Guild proudly continues the esteemed classroom training legacy established by UKAIT.

My own practice, Bridge to the Other Side Counselling & Hypnotherapy, serves adults and young people, and I bring this extensive real-world experience directly into our training. I work across diverse settings, including schools and specialist services, utilising powerful tools such as EMDR, specialised addiction therapies, and trauma-informed techniques to help clients navigate complex challenges.

The very techniques you will master on this course are those I use daily, and I am honoured to guide you in developing the skills that have profoundly changed my life and the lives of my clients. I'm excited to share this transformative learning experience and embark on this journey together with you.

Our Founder’s Story

Nichola Doyle’s journey into counselling began through her own lived experience of therapy. Each time she reached out for support, she was met with a different counsellor, which left her feeling there was little consistency or continuity in the help she received. It was in recognising this gap that Nichola realised the importance of stability in counselling, and it became the spark that inspired her to train as a counsellor herself.

She enrolled on a counselling course with UKAIT, founded and led by Paul Henderson. As Paul approached retirement, Nichola’s background in teaching and her passion for the profession made her a natural choice to carry his work forward. When Paul entrusted her with continuing the course, it became the foundation for what would grow into

Meet Nick, our highly experienced Course Supervisor, who brings a remarkable wealth of patience and profound expertise to our students. A seasoned Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Nick is dedicated to helping people truly live their lives well.

Beyond his thriving practice on the Wirral, Nick is also a published author, sharing his insights more broadly – his notable work, "Unlocking OCD," is available on Amazon. His diverse background further enriches his approach; with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design, Nick's creative talents flourished as a Designer and Illustrator (with work featured in publications like Radio Times and Nursing Magazine). He also dedicated 25 years to inspiring others as a Teacher and Trainer in Art, Design, and Education.

Erin's path to becoming an Integrative Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist is a testament to her innate interest in human experience. Her early career in hairdressing provided a unique window into people's lives, listening to their stories and fostering her enduring interest in psychology. This passion led her to achieve a BA (Hons) in Sociology and Social Sciences.

Balancing her analytical skills honed as a Digital Teams Manager at The Very Group, Erin trained with UKAIT to gain her professional qualifications. Her practical experience is notably diverse, with impactful placements at Marie Curie, where she supported individuals through anticipatory and complicated grief, and more recently with UK Therapy Guild Counselling Services (via ProMed). Here, she assists clients with a range of needs including anxiety and depression, and utilises hypnotherapy to build confidence and address fears and phobias.
